We had Francesca booked on a Camel ride 5 years previous when we had a family holiday at Uluru, unfortunately Qantas conspired to deny our precious Missy of her ride on a large smelly desert creature. So with 3 different teams of camels marching amongst the over exposed seniors on Cable beach, we chose to fulfill her life long dream, obviously it was going to be the red team for us.
Now with the girls perched high on the back of Moojo the camel, the charge up the beach was on, there was no race caller required as they all came back in the order that they left.
Note the composure of our Camel Jockeys as compared to the rider in white. Hers was a struggle from start to finish, there were moments when we thought she may end up like a star fish on the beach, but she dismounted all be it an exhausted Jockey.
As the field heads home in the last at Cable beach, we as a family can now move forward knowing that the hump has now finally been lifted.

How to get a seniors card in Broome.
It has become apparent that to get a seniors card in Broome, one must exchange it for ALL of your swim wear. As we drive north up the beach there is a disturbing number of people naked, all of them current card holders. We position ourselves a reasonable distance from our nearest neighbour, a couple of ample proportion, mum she chooses to lay in the sand crumbing the cutlet. Dad he thinks it would be prudent to clear the sand out from under the wheels of the car.
My dilemma is that I have a long handled shovel at my disposal, I feel the urge to assist however I am reluctant to approach a man, who is receiving a healthy dose of sunshine to the deepest of his creases. So do I approach shovel outstretched, shielding my eye's, hoping not to spoil his day. (insert image).
Our children will return shortly scared by some of the images on the beach, a procession of naked old men with no bottoms & the codger todger swinging in the breeze will remain with them for some time I am sure.
This was our sun smart camp for the day, note, lots of shade, sunscreen & togs over here thank you.
Another picture of an Indian Ocean sunset, & we will have plenty more.

Happy days in Broome.
All is well in Broome, the beach is superb, water is warm, the moon is full, its nice to step out of bed rather than climb down from bed. We watched the Saints play for the first time this season, front bar of the Roebuck bay hotel, hostile territory, solid win. The Pigram Brothers played a gig on the beach last night,
I took Big Mitch up North & instructed him in how to dig out a 3 ton 4x4 out of sand, it may help him later.
But I think he will just remember not to go into the soft sand in a 3 ton 4x4. We have all found Broome to be most relaxing. We have just moved to new accom, now we are only 100m from Cable beach & Divers Tavern, most convenient. Here is how we rounded out Sunday night, a couple of drinks on the beach with live music & the sunset.
How's Melbourne's winter treating you all?

Children & Broome
Well we have gone west & can go no further. The children worked with qantas to put themselves in Broome at exactly the same time as we arrive, despite some anxious pacing by Annie during the 15 minute delay all went to plan, so we are now 4 persons (in a 2 seat truck), we have carefully placed some deck chairs.
So now that Francesca has been instructed in safe travelling in the out back, I work with Mitchell on how to become the "Solo Man", he positions himself on the beach to watch the "Master" taking notes he will need.
He attempts an amateurish copy of the master, but come up way short of the mark!
So we decide it is time to leave the beach in true bogun style, if you can"t beat em join em.
God bless Western Austaya!

Gibb River Road
Kununurra is now 275,223,KKK,KKK corrugations & tons of dust behind us now. We did water holes, water falls, we did walk, talk & do pretty much all bar a couple of locations (Mitchell Falls & Mornington Station), the long & short of it is- it's a well used track.
The water comes out of the ground at 28 deg, we got used to it pretty quick, then we moved on to a cooler water hole, it's tough up here in the tropics, but we get by.
So with El Questro covered we moved on down the road to Mount Elizabeth for.... you guessed it!
So after weeks of suffering, we hit Derby, dusty, dry & then in the distance I here a familiar tune. I have wondered where the pink Bedfords went to Die- Derby! I will have 2x2chock dips please Mr. Whippy!
It's a tough winter in these parts.
